The only thing I can think of is that the dye washed away in certain spots. This material is now being used as a practive piece. Thank heavens I didn't pay a lot of money for this. I sticking to quilt stores for fabric and Joann's for my yarn
I bought some orange fabric at Joanns and did not prewash it. So, when I made my quilt the large 6 inch square of orange looked awful with dark spots. ( I had to replace it). So, I proceeded to wash the rest of the orange fabric and was shocked to see the light, dark, ugly spots on it. The orange dye was not thorough.
Sure was disappointed!!! The fabric was on the shelves of keepsake calico prints and solids of $3.99-$9.99 a yard. Not sure what I will do next time.
