I buy it in 15metre lots at the local dollar mart shop.Perhaps you could find it in a similar store in the States? At the risk of sounding like I am stereotyping, they are usually run by Chinese in this country.I've seen it on the net on Amy Sims' site and you can buy it in 50 or 100 foot lots.The cotton rope is easy to sew on the machine.I used 100/16 needles when I made my bowls.
