In general, I think I'm a pretty selective about buying fabrics and it has to do with the "hand" of a fabric. There are some with a smooth, weighty heft to them that you know will handle beautifully in a quilt. That quality matters every bit as much as the design or appearance of the fabric whether it's a batik or a print.
