I've flown several times with my FW and never had a problem -- I have met some really nice quilters as I walked thru terminals. The case is very identifyable!!

It does fit nicely overhead. I've never tried to call it my "personal" Now I have SMs on both coasts so my personal is my laptop. -- DH has laptops on both coasts because he doesn't like to tote them around.

I'm going to check on needles because I was going to take some handwork to do when I go back on the plane.

www.tsa.gov -- I just looked and it appears that sewing needles are OK in carry on baggage. also scissors smaller than 4 inches. I guess it also depends on if you get a nasty TSA or a nice one. Some of them like to throw their power around. -- So be meek and mild as Dorothy said to the mighty OZ
