I joined my guild two years ago. To date I have finished one top for a charity quilt because I said I would. I have two tops requiring borders. I have table topper ready to handquilt.
At this time I am honing my rotary cutter skills. My seam allowances have gotten better since I purchased the 1/4" foot for my 301. I am also working on lining up my seams. Then it will be time to master borders and finishing my projects.
I jumped into quilting with both feet, the same way I do everything. Then reality hit and I knew it did not matter how many quilts the others completed, I had start at the beginning and learn one skill at a time. I am making progress.
I have no UFO's, only WIP's. By the way, I am very good at buying fabric -- the most important skill was the first learned. My stash is coming along nicely.
Quilting like everything else worth doing is a journey.
