In picture #3 there is a fabric in the pinwheel at the left top that is black background with white lines thru it. I think that would a great binding. It has the colors of almost all of the other fabrics and it also has black. It would also have yellow in it.
I agree - this would keep the finish lighter but incorproate all colors in the quilt. (Good eye, Janet!)
