Here is what I did this morning. I have a small low desk who's use, involves using a kneeling seat called a Seiza Bench which I made out of Oak. This is a Japanese furniture style which is very popular in Zen Meditation circles. My wife has one she uses exclusively, whenever she meditates. The project at hand, involved making a quilted cushion, of black cotton twill, that is permanently attached with snaps that can be undone and the cushion can be washed if needed. The first picture is of the bench in place with the cushion installed on it. The second and third pictures are of the cushion itself, top and bottom. 4 layers of cotton batting and diamond quilted makes everything stay in place, and cushions my "bitter end", while seated in a kneeling position and studying texts or using the IPad for whatever reason. I finally am able to really enjoy this space with addition of the cushion. Thought you might like to see what I did on my 70th birthday morning. My wife is downstairs, in the kitchen making me a double crust apple pie, my favorite for the birthday dinner. No cake for me, my choice is always Apple Pie.
