I do knit as well as quilt. I started back when I was in 2nd grade and a neighbor taught me the "knit stitch"...and I made a vet from rainbow varigated yarn...was quite proud of myself.
Many years went by before I knit again...and learned the "purl stitch" so many more options for knitting opened up.I knit for a few years then, and now in just the last few years I have started knitting again. I knit vests, scarves, hats, mittens, dishcloths....mostly simple projects, have never taken on something too lacy or complicated project. I knit to relax while watching tv in evenings, or when with friends....have to have a project that I can talk and knit at the same time and not goof up!
