I knit and crochet, we're on opposite sides of the country or I would love to help you. If you have a yarn shop locally or one nearby, the usually will help you. Also, check you local community college and see if they have someone who teaches an enrichment class of knitting to people in the community--if, so maybe they will give you the name of the instructor.
