In regards to the puckering on the half triangles.....have you tried a different method? If I have to make a 1/2 triangle square... I usually sew two squares diagonally..... you just have to cut the squares a bit larger... for example... if you want a 2 1/2 inch block...cut the two squares 2 7/8... draw a pencil line diagonally on the back...then sew 1/4 inch on either side of the line...cut on the line and press...you then have two half square triangles and no puckering..... You have made a beautiful block...love to see the finished quilt...
