I put my new darning foot on the 401A and it doesn't work. This machine sews a nice straight and ZZ stitch (haven't tried any of the cams for other stitches) but it won't let me FMQ on it. I'm sad. Did you have the pressure foot down? You can use the cover from the buttonholer if you have one.
Yup presser foot was down. I'll try the buttonholer cover.
Did you pull the bobbin thread to the top of the quilt? Nearly everytime I have trouble it's because I forgot!
