My mom has the Sony reader and likes it but agrees that the Sony library is limited when compared to the Kindle. I think the key to this arguement is what books YOU want to read.

Amazon has really revamped a lot of things on their Kindle readers. From touch screen versions to color. You can now borrow books from libraries who subscribe to Overdrive, etc. If you live near a BestBuy store, you can do a hands-on comparison.
