I have a Sony Reader and I absolutely love it! Mine doesn't have anything fancy like color or wi-fi but I dont feel like I want for anything. I think they have newer models too that have color and wifi as well. Plus the Sony Reader Library has lots and lots of free books, and new ones come out all the time. I have heard lots of things about Amazon and B&N not having much in the way of free books.....
My mom has the Sony reader and likes it but agrees that the Sony library is limited when compared to the Kindle. I think the key to this arguement is what books YOU want to read.
Amazon has really revamped a lot of things on their Kindle readers. From touch screen versions to color. You can now borrow books from libraries who subscribe to Overdrive, etc. If you live near a BestBuy store, you can do a hands-on comparison.
