I am glad someone is talking about how to handle our old rotary cutter blades. We can extend their use by sharpening, but eventually they have to be disposed of - correctly.
Tossing them in the garbage is not a good option.
metal blades are not biodegradable...

But metal can be recycled. we can put them in some wsort of container (I use a plastic jar) to save until I get it full. Most places buy scrap metal, I am glad to give it to them FREE. Metal recyclers are all over the place. and we can save the planet a few blades at a time.
Let Quilters start a new movement....Recycle those blades.
No cutter blades in the garbage!
