I had several of the folding Ott lamps, as DH found them on sale for $9.99. Now I have extending arm high efficiency (4W) lamps on my desk and by my sewing machine. They give out more light and use less power. These have a reflector surface to focus the light and can be brought in to give light exactly where I want it, without moving the base.
