Christmas socks are the size of an 11 x 8 ich standard sheet of paper. They have a cuff that can be made out of flannel, felt, fur or whatever you want. The organization who sends the socks to the soldiers ask that NO GLITTER be used on the socks but any other kind of decorations one wants to do is fine. If y'all aren't interested in doing this or if it's not in the relm of BOM then I do have another BOM picked out.

When you get to the site you'll see a number of topics along the right hand side of the page. One has a cardboard box with a Christmas sock hanging on the edge of the box. Click there and it'll take you to the page that tells all about this project.
The socks need to be at the coordinators by Oct. 15th. Her e-mail address USED to be
4Puddle@comcast.net but I haven't had any luck getting her through this address. She also has a phone number: 1-541-926-3686 - her name is:

I have made some socks and will post them on the picture page of the BOM. They are quick, easy and you can get about 4 socks out of 2/3 of a yard of fabric.
Thanks guys.

Hi Quilter Friends...it's again time to dig out the Christmas Fabric and make Christmas Socks for the Soldiers for Christmas. I'm sending this info from last year...nothing has changed so far as the address to use to send the socks . The deadline is October 1, 2009 so if you are interested in making socks please have them to the contact person by October 1, 2009. I'll attach a picture of a few I've made this week. Last year our quilt group made and sent over 300 socks. It's so much fun and this project will be one of the things on our agenda for our retreat in Sept.
Hope you can all participate...just one sock will help! We're told that the soldiers love receiving them but that they also really like being able to give the socks to little kids on the street in Afganistan and Iraq to promote good will. These little kids don't have much and are pretty excited to get a present! Thanks everyone.
