I'm not sure I understand, but does this help? Cut your pieces. Place them right sides together (the concave one on top makes it easier to sew). Then line up the first part of the seam as if it's a straight seam - see how the section from the top to the pen is almost perfectly aligned. Sew that bit, then gradually start easing the pieces into alignment as you move down the seam. Only worry about 1/2 or 1 inch at a time.
