You could just apply a piece of fabric with some "heat and bond". I would suggest the lite kind. Then they could sign it and you could cut it into pieces to iron on next to or on top of the stars.
yep...or you could iron the fabric to freezer paper, have them sign in the BOX on the fabric, then you could peel the paper off and either fuse or stitch down the BOX!
