My frame was made from a pattern from one that was made about 90 years ago. It has the saw-horse ends and two long (12') poles on the back and on the front. It's only about 24" from front to back and you roll the quilt on the poles when you are ready to move on. It works well for me, but I just can not seem to get the spray baste to work.
I have used a frame like that before, and I don't think I would spray it. It helps if you have 2 people helping,one at each end to help roll and get it tight. What brand of spray are you using?
also, you might have to unroll all the way to the end on the back and start over making sure it is pinned evenly. I had all of those problems years ago.
No one answer, just have to figure out what is wrong. You might need 3 people , one in the middle also to turn it and get it tight!
