When kids tell me that their mom does not work, I usually ask, well, who cooks, cleans, sews, does laundry, shops for groceries, shops for clothes, puts gas in the car, helps you with your school work, takes care of you when you are sick, drives you around, helps dad with projects, gardens, etc., at your house? They are surprised when they see that mom works hard to keep things going at their house! I never let kids get away with my mom is "just a housewife." It is not "just" anything! And when men say that? Well, let's not even go there.
