I really like the setting/layout for your panel.

Just some random thoughts (from a city girl  ) who never does "wood-sy":

When you go tohttp://www.quiltshops.com , do a search on "backyard bandits" - it's a fabric line from Fabriquilt that might have a lot of the critters you're looking for - or others you can use that fit with your theme.
The colorways/backgrounds looks like it would be similar to your center panel.
And cheaper shipping if you could find it all at one vendor.

You can also do a search on "trees" - you'll get all kinds - cartoonish and realistic.
Here's a nice white tree -

The lightness might provide some nice contrast to all the darker woodsy colors.

But you'll probably have to put them sideways as the pattern won't be long/tall enough (without a seam) to be placed vertically.

So whatever fabric you choose, just make sure there is enough yardage to have one piece.

Or you could use a bunch of (realistic) tree fabrics together in that section - different seasons, etc.
Lots of options.

I also found some great owl, bunny, fox. wolf and raccoon fabrics here (scroll down):

A queen size quilt is approx 80"x100" - that gives a 10" drop on all 4 sides (or enough to be used for the tuck/pillows).

The tree section would have to be much wider than you have it in your sketch - in relation to the size of the panel.
That's a lot of ....space.

Here's just another version where more borders/framing beef add around 16" to width/length

This version brings the quilt top to approx 84" x101" - you can add or delete borders as needed.

The borders/frames are all 2" FINISHED, just to give you an idea of measurements.

I think your idea is great - and could translate easily and effectively into a safari or ocean themed quilt.
I'm thinking I'm might make an ocean one as I know have a ton of fabrics with dolphins/whales/sharks/etc.

Looking forward to seeing whatever you decide to do:
