Somebody already answered this, but the finished size is 10" square. I like to have some play for errors- the pattern strips are cut 10 1/2X 6 1/2, and the white strips 2 1/2x 10 1/2. Trim to 10 1/2 inch squares.

You can make this in an endless variety of ways- narrower sold strips or wider. As long as you end up with square blocks.

These are mostly 30's prints, but my brother plays guitar and bass, and my sister in law likes the atomic prints, so there are a few contemporary fabrics thrown in for interest.

I'm working on the borders and then will quilt it.

This is a really really easy pattern that doesn't look really easy. It's kind of an optical illusion. I have made it with the horizontal and vertical strips in different colors as well, which adds to the basket weave illusion.
Thank you. I will have to make one like this. Also this one would be an easy one for me to have us do at church for mission quilts. Again thank you.
