I always loved looking at quilts my grandmother always had a lot of them around the house. It wasn't until I was working as a nurse and one of my friends brought it a pile of lap quilts that she was taken to the cancer patients. That's when I started looking around at taking classes but with a hectic schedule never found time to do it.

I had a major back surgery and then a stroke, this is when I found the time to quilt believe it or not. The stroke was a major scare and I decided not to put off things I wanted to do anymore because I don't know if it will happen again. I go to classes about once a month at the LQS to get out of the house for a few hours and we have a blast talking and laughing. Now I'm squirreling away fabric like a mad lady wherever I can find it, patterns too!
