Your machine should have an ID # plate on the back that starts with a W followed with numbers. If you have a W in front of the number, then you have a rare a machine. From what I have read off of some folks' photo blogs, not too many Singer 9W with the number plates starting with a W are around these days. Needlbar has only reported around 5 such machines(I have one, just not reported into Needlebar). Singer bought out Wheeler and Wilson, the remaining parts from the W&W were used in the Singer 9W. The only difference is the bed size, Singer wider and longer. The decals are Celtic Knot.

I do not have a W in the serial numbers. They are only numbers. When I checked in the Singer web site it says that it was made in 1879. That it is a 15. How can I check this out????
These machines can't be dated using the Singer serial numbers, as Singer continued to use the W&W numbers, minus the "W" in front of the number. They did not keep records of them, or at least not that anyone has found.
Your machine was made after 1906, but before 1912.. :)
