Just a suggestion:
I worked at a small rural hospital. To re-purpose flowers not taken by the families when a loved one passes, the funeral director would ask the family if they would 'donate' them to the local hospitals and retirement homes. Then, the nurses or anyone with time, would take them apart and make bouquets for the patients. Seemed to brighten everybody's day!!
