Are you talking about the needle bar? If that is what it is, probably the silver nob in the center of the handwheel came loose. Just hold the handwheel firmly in your left hand and turn the silver nob away from you with your right at the same time. Then try again. You turn it towards you to disengage the needlebar so you can wind bobbins. Good luck!
