They are two different blocks. The second probably had either a full mellon or half mellon piece to make it a square. Barbara Brackman's Encyclopedia of Pieced Blocks would probably have the full picture. The first looks like a dresden plate with the triangles in to make it a hexagon or some such shape. INo I was confused by the triangle pieces as they are not all the same. If cut accurately they would make a circle and might have included a corner piece to make it square or appiqued on a square background. It depends on how much of the original stitching you want to keep. I would probably redraw the pattern to make all pieces more accurate and then use some new fabric. They look 30's so it is possible to find solid colors to match the original. The triangle pieces around the Dresden definitely need recutting as they appear to not all be the same. The notchs were there to line up with the joining piece.
