You have to "fussy cut" the squares so you don't cut bears in half. I would decide on the size of the squares based on your animals. If the biggest animal fits into a 5-inch window, for example, I would cut all the squares at 5-1/2 inches.

With the D9P the cut is made through the center squares so, as long as you keep the animal print squares in the corners, you should be fine.
