I'm originally from Maine and came to FL via Cuba. My DH and I were stationed there 4 yrs and believe me, we learned to make any location we were in the best it could be so we could be together. When we finally got to FL in '76,it was like paradise. First we went to Key West, then Jacksonville and finally over here near Clearwater. I don't miss the winter in Maine at all. The last winter I was there ('70-'71) was the worst winter in years.
I think bottom line is will your daughter like it better living in New England while her DH is working elsewhere for however long this job lasts or would she rather be by his side? She should be soooooo thankful he has a job. June is 8 months away, that will give her plenty of time to decide what sacrifices she's willing to make to keep her family together.
