a ruler that narrow for strip cutting could actually be dangerous because it could so easily slip. I personally would not use it for that. get a 6.5" ruler with 1/2" marking on the
one side & whole " on the other. 12" long is the most useful.
cut slowly & "walk" your fingers along the ruler after you make the first cut. actually, with a 12" ruler, you would not need to move your hand. Practice on some cheap muslin or ugly fabric until you get the hang of cutting WOF strips.
