Replacing the battery in an iPod isn't like replacing the batteries in your tv's remote control. You have to disassemble the iPod - meaning break seals, unscrew things, and be very careful with electronic connections. I found a video that shows you how to take it apart and replace the battery here. It's similar, but not the same, as the directions for my 2nd gen Pod.
