I really don't like to mix cotton and poly / cotton together in the same quilt block. It seems that with the higher heat of the iron for the cotton, the poly seems to get smaller and doesn't match up to the cotton pieces.
Also,poly/cotton piles over time.
Poly/ cotton holds it's color much longer than cotton.
To each they're own choice!
