That is such a great way to use the canisters. Now I can think of others that might work this way. I love the using of a drawer as a guide for the cutting of the box, as otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get it straight.

That was exactly the problem! If you don't cut the top edge exactly straight, it won't close again. Scissors will not give you that nice straight edge! And just running a razor knife on a drawn line will give you a wavy edge at best. But holding the blade flush against the top edge of the drawer and turning it gives you a clean straight edge that does the trick. Of course, you can make it any height you want, even leaving it as it is. But I wanted to disguise the fact that it was an oatmeal container, so I had to cut it down. Plus I think the shorter height is handier for its purpose. It makes it look "cute" and not quite so top-heavy.
