I have a large 36x60 white cutting mat that covers my cutting table completely. It gives a nice solid cutting surface. However, I don't cut directly on that mat. I have a smaller mat (18x36) on top of the large mat. The hard plastic white mat is too hard on cutter blades. It really dulls them fast. I only keep the large mat because it makes a good solid cutting surface.
