Some have asked about hanging the quilt. I used 1/2 inch flat magnets from Lee Valley Tools - very strong magnets in my opinion. I did all the free motion etc. on the front piece with the batting attached - leaving the backing off. I did that because I wanted to make some buttonholes on the backing. I made five buttonholes across the top, and five at the bottom. After I attached the backing to the top, I made u shaped pockets using the buttonholes as the pocket openings so that I could just slip the magnets through the buttonholes and they landed at the bottom of the pockets. So about 1/2 inch pockets in length below the buttonholes. Some fireplaces don't have a place to suspend a tension rod but they would all have a metal screen for magnets to attach onto I would think. Sorry I don't have a pattern to share. Everything was just experiment, experiment and experiment some more. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for your supportive comments. I know I don't write enough to tell all of you how wonderful your projects are. I would never have time to sew! But you are indeed a wonderful group of quilters!
