Several years ago, we started a friendship quilt for one of our co-workers who was due to retire. I passed out 6.5 x 6.5 inch squares and fabric markers. Some signed their names, some drew pictures of things that she liked.

By the time that everyone was done, I had enough to do two quilts for her. Both essentially the same, but I set the star blocks on point for one of them.

The red one started life as a "side" project during a Thimbleberries class and primarily used the scraps from the blocks that we made during class.

I'm excited about the new quilt - I've been collecting pink and coral batiks and am finally doing a quilt for me. It will end up being my TV quilt even though it doesn't match the living room, I'm doing something that I like.

The beginning of my newest project - all pinks and corals
