Well, technically, I think it is a small model of a long arm machine. Although when folks here talk about using a "Long Arm" they are referring to a machine this size, or most likely even longer, mounted on rails with a frame holding rollers of the quilt top and backing with batting between, where you move the machine, not the quilt, to do the actual quilting.

I'll be using the same method for FMQing that I have used before with my domestic machines where the machine will sit on a table, and I will move the quilt sandwich through the machine. That's what is referred to as the "sit-down" or "push-through" method of quilting.
