I love to go to Estate sales to see what I can find. At one I bought a quilt that was just started..all the blocks were cut out but only about 4 of them were actually sewn. With it came the green fabric that I used for binding and sashing. All of the fabric was very old..I suspect from the 30's. The green was discolored from age where it was folded. I found at another sale, and love to buy, old quilt books. One was "Polly Prindle's Book of American Patchwork Quilts" by Alice I. Gammell (1973) and pictured on the flysheet was the quilt. I don't know which I had first, the book or the UFO. Anyway, I was thrilled to have it to determine the layout. I think I would have turned the flowers all one direction and it wouldn't have been as pretty.

I did all the applique by hand and then took it to Dan Kolbe, a local LAQ. I love how he quilted it.

My in house policeman, Mr. Peach, is checking it out!
