Could you make two thin quilts, button them together down the centre (right sides facing), so that one could fold back onto the other side?
Good idea ... I'd been thinking much the same, and was thinking of an extra wide quilt that the extra width would fold towards the centre and be buttoned, or perhaps velcro'd to hold it in place. Yours could be very stylishly done ... and removable if the extra layer was not not wanted ....
I think the challenge would be to keep the 1/2 on the right person! It might become a tug of war!!
