I can see why your daughter would LOVE that quilt!
One of the reasons I buy fabric, since I am seeing a BIG piece of fabric has to do with the pattern on the fabric. Rarely do I even consider the color or texture, though I have used that thought to accomplish some things.
I think your pattern/quilt did a good job of nicely displaying the pattern on the fabric in a big enough piece to actually be able to appreciate the fabric/texture/color all at one time.
