There is a special story behind these turtles. You see this is a quilt for a very special baby girl. Her mommy and daddy have wanted a baby for a very long time. Before this little one came along, there had been 3 that were coming but were went off to play with the angels instead. There daddy is a special guy, he's an Air Force pilot. Daddy was able to spread their ashes over the ocean from his plane. As a way to keep them ever present, mommy and daddy had matching tattoos done of 3 little sea turtles.
Friend of mine, who doesn't quilt, asked me to make it. She tried to do it herself, but just wasn't able. So that's where I stepped in.
I'm thinking of appliqueing 4 turtles to the back of the quilt kind of signaling they are all still together
