I made a sheet of 5 hexis on the computer and printed it out onto some old lined paper (it's thinner and easier for me to baste and pin) and only printed a few sheets out. I then pinned the paper together in each of the hexis so I wouldn't have to worry about the paper shifting while I cut. I haven't tried the freezer paper, but regular paper works better for me, but try a few methods until you find what you like! and good luck!
