If she is having trouble with smoothness then groovy boards or something similar is the way to go. Keeps us steady and the designs look great when finished. My last panto looked like garbage, I couldn't follow the lines at all. I should have picked an easier one but thought my skills were good enough...not! I have a wish list for some of the sewboards from bayside quilting.
