I have a babylock embroidery machine, it seems to work better for me with a metal bobbin. Works smoother, and
better. I also use metal bobbin on my 221-1 singer.
What did you think?
Read your manual and check the manufacturer specs. If your newer machine came with plastic bobbins that's what you should use. Most newer machines have plastic bobbin cases and metal bobbins will cut through them over time and you'll likely have a nice little repair bill. Don't use metal if you're not supposed to. Of course, your Singer was manufactured to use metal ones.
