After all the years I spent in Kindergarten I can testify that's not a joke. And speaking of starch/snot--you ought to see how stiff sleeves become when used as handkerchiefs. (Then there're the green icicles. If you don't know about them, I'm not going to tell you.)
Seriously, I'm planning on making my next quilts without quilting. That will definitely include foundation pieced strips on either old percale or muslin sheets or cotton sheet blankets. Then a lining--tacked, tied or buttoned.
