*I had a Singer 417 that was a great machine, beautiful stitch. One of my son's dropped it when we were moving and it was fatally wounded. I cried!
I currently have a Pfaff 7570 sewing/embroidery machine (which is a great machine) and recently purchased a Singer 403. Love my Pfaff but nothing does a straight stitch like the vintage machines.
I also have an old Singer from the 1940's that was my mothers. It's in a cabinet and sits in an unused bedroom and hasn't been used for about 40 years. I will have to drag that machine out and oil her up. My mother took good care of it and I now have a great appreciation for the vintage Singers.
Don't think I need any more machines right now. I've toyed with the idea of a long arm but where to put it is the problem.
