Personally I have tried frames and hoops and disliked them both. I hand quilt without either and it is so relaxing and I love it that way!
Just make sure you baste or pin it generously and it will come out just as smooth as if you used a hoop or frame....honest! Trust me you will fall in love with hand quilting!
