It is made from regular cotton clothesline rope. You sew the clothesline together in a circle with a zig-zag stitch , keeping it flat going in a circle until it is the size that you want. Then fussy cut a piece of material and basically use the clothesline plate as the batting, cut a back. I used monofilament thread and outlined each animal... or you could quilt in anyway you wanted. Then bind it just like you would a quilt, (bias binding of course. I believe the book that describes the bowls and this project is called Wrap It. I will try and find it on Amazon and include the link. Glad you enjoyed seeing it... There are so may possibilities.... coasters, placemats , plates... quilter 1234
