The first quilt I ever made was 3/5" pieces of corduroy--we called it a postcard quilt. One of my girls needed a cover for her bed. That quilt lasted "forever" --although I had to zig-zag some of the seams over the years. I didn't even know you should have all the same weight fabrics and it didn't make any difference. Granted, this was truly a utilitarian quilt but a much loved one, just the same. I had not thought about that quilt in years. That daughter is in her early 50's now.
