I have heard that instead of leaving your top thread on the spool, wind it onto another bobbin wih a little less thread on than the bobbin. Sew with that on the spool pin and you will run out of top thread sooner than the bobbin.However I prefer to just merrily sew along on my empty bobbin ! Diane C
