I also like to use muslin. I use it for all of the backs of my quilts.I also used it on the front of the tie quilt that I made and on a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. I hand quilt and I like muslin because it really shows off the hand quilting. I buy a good quality muslin by the bolt. It is a little expensive, but to me well worth it.
